Tired and a little sad
Don’t worry little lad
You are not that bad
Surprisingly glad, enough to drive me mad
Look at the sadness and pain around You
More than just a tad
Overwhelming at times
Would like to not choose sides
Instead, come together
Slowly but surely
Look into each other’s eyes
Hide behind our hearts
Ruminate about life and love
Share and take care of one
Reminisce, dance, sing songs of
Yesterday and days to come
And when it’s all done
Return to our loving sons
