Alive in my mind
Although lagging behind
Your body was
The most heartfelt of moments
Sitting in the backyard
Watching warm sunsets
Two men, sharing about their lives
Together in knowing
That time is what we will have to face
Then that day came
An ordinary, day
Turned into extraordinary
In just a moment
But You still remain
In my mind’s eye
Dearly and together in my heart
Guiding me, hopefully
Into the stars
In moments of sadness
