He listens with intent
Although his eyes rolling and his gaze turning tell another story
She has had a bad day at work
Not his fault
But he is the one who receives the bulk of that experience
Not that he doesn’t care
He does, he is tired
Tired of listening
Tired of pretending to care
While she speaks her experiences
He is thinking about ripping her clothes off and bending her over
And passionately yet lovingly ravishing her
With all of his care and love
This doesn’t happen
She feels a little better
But deep down knows
Something was off
He has lost his edge
She has confused her lover with her girlfriends
Both remember the passion
But fail to reach it
